Lorcain Egan

Managing Director and Head of Lending, Europe, Capital Markets

Lorcain Egan is Head of Lending, Europe for Starwood. Mr. Egan is responsible for debt origination and asset management for Starwood’s lending platform in Europe. Since joining Starwood in 2013, Mr. Egan has structured and executed financing and has secured financing for Starwood’s equity acquisitions across Europe.

Prior to joining Starwood Capital, Mr. Egan was a Vice President at Barclays Bank where he worked in their Structured Property, Debt Finance team. In this team, Mr. Egan focused on originating real estate debt opportunities for Barclays.

Mr. Egan received a degree in Law & Economics from the University of Ulster.


Nate Bagnaschi

Managing Director, Capital Markets
Starwood Capital Group

Nate Bagnaschi is a Managing Director in Capital Markets at Starwood Capital Group. In this role, Mr. Bagnaschi is responsible for the origination, structuring and execution of asset-level and fund/corporate-level financing activity for the Firm’s investments in the Americas.

Prior to joining Starwood Capital in 2016, Mr. Bagnaschi served as head of the capital markets group at Garrison Investment Group, where he was responsible for structuring real estate, distressed debt and fund-level financings. Before that, he was an Associate in the asset management and special servicing group at Gramercy Capital, where was responsible for managing a portfolio of whole loans, secured B-notes and mezzanine loan positions within the firm’s finance business. Mr. Bagnaschi previously worked in the real estate finance and securitization group at Credit Suisse.

Mr. Bagnaschi received a B.A. degree in international relations, with minors in economics and Hispanic studies, from the University of Pennsylvania.


Cailen Casey

Senior Vice President, Capital Markets

Cailen Casey is a Senior Vice President in Capital Markets at Starwood Capital Group. In this role, Mr. Casey is responsible for the origination, structuring and execution of asset-level and fund/corporate-level financing activity for the Firm’s investments in the Americas.

Prior to joining Starwood Capital in 2015, Mr. Casey was an associate in J.P. Morgan’s CMBS Group responsible for loan origination. Mr. Casey started his career at J.P. Morgan on the US Taxable Fixed Income trading desk.

Mr. Casey received a B.S. degree in Hotel Administration with a minor in Real Estate from Cornell University.


Irene Ryan

Senior Vice President, Asset Management, Lending Europe
Starwood Capital Group

Irene Ryan is a Senior Vice President at Starwood Capital Group, London office and is responsible for the asset management of debt investments by Starwood’s lending platform in Europe Since joining Starwood Capital in 2013, Ms. Ryan has managed the portfolio of loans held across multi-asset classes and European jurisdictions originated by Starwood Property Trust (NYSE: STWD) and Starwood European Finance Real Estate Finance (SWEF: LN).

Prior to joining Starwood Capital, Ms. Ryan worked in a real estate focussed bank in London, holding a variety of lending roles from origination to loan restructuring and recovery. Before that, she gained her chartered accountancy qualification (ACA) while working at KPMG in Ireland.

Ms. Ryan holds a bachelor of business studies from Trinity College Dublin and is a fellow of the Institute of the Chartered Accountants of Ireland (FCA).


David Smith

Senior Vice President, Capital Markets, Europe
Starwood Capital Group

David Smith is a Senior Vice President in Capital Markets, International at Starwood Capital Group. In this role, Mr. Smith is responsible for financing the firm’s direct real estate investments in Europe and Asia, managing the firm’s foreign exchange hedging policy globally and implementing interest rate hedging for the European investment portfolio.

Prior to joining Starwood Capital, Mr. Smith spent five years at Citi, where he was most recently an Associate in the Commercial Real Estate Finance team in London, focusing on large-scale non-performing loan and transitional asset financings across Europe. Before that, Mr. Smith was an Associate in Citi’s Corporate & Investment Banking Division, where he was engaged in a broad spectrum of advisory, capital markets and structured lending transactions for large Irish corporates and financial institutions.

Mr. Smith received a BSc. (Hons) degree in Economics and Finance from University College Dublin.
